My Laurastar is not working

Why does the iron no longer emit steam?

There might be several reasons.

Please make sure that the appliance is switched on and that the water tank is full.

Please use exclusively tap water with our products in order to optimize the good functioning of the steam.

The holes on the iron might be obstructed by limescale and should be then cleaned with a specific cleaning tool. If the appliance is scaled the boiler then needs to be rinsed.

Please also check that the appliance is directly plugged in the electric plug without any extension or multi-socket adaptor.

It happens that following the filling of the water tank, water has accumulated in between the tank and the boiler: please keep this area where the filling cap is situated very dry.

Lastly, when handling a Laurastar Lift, please make sure that the water tank is correctly placed.

What do i do if droplets of water are coming out of the iron when i start to use it?

Before ironing, or after an extended break, press the steam button away from your fabrics 2 or 3 times to get rid of condensed water in the steam cord and to prevent water marks on the clothes.

What do i do if the iron soleplate drips?

If the iron soleplate drips, check that:

  • The indicator light is on.
  • The boiler has been rinsed recently.
Condensed water in the steam cord has been evacuated by pressing the steam button away from the fabrics 2-3 times. This must be done before each ironing session or after a long break.
  • Only tap water and Laurastar anti-scale water filter granules or anti-scale cartridges are used.

If you have just put on the cold iron protective soleplate on the hot iron, condensation can build up. Wait several minutes until the protective soleplate reaches the same temperature as the iron.

If the iron continues to drip, call Laurastar Customer Service.

The iron is not heating up - what's going on?

If the iron is not heating up, check that the appliance is plugged in and that it is set up properly.

The iron is too hot. How can i adjust the temperature?

If the iron is too hot, adjust the temperature by setting the thermostat to ••.

Why is my laurastar switching off automatically?

The appliance switches off after 10 or 15 minutes of inactivity (depending on models) for greater comfort and safety.

What do i do if there is a continuous « Beep » sound and the « No Water » light indicator turns red?

1) If you own a steam generator Laurastar Lift or Laurastar Lift +:

These two alerts signal that there is almost no water left in the water tank. If there is a continuous beep and the water light indicator turns red, refill the water tank with cold tap water and put it back in its place. If the light stays red when the water tank is full, this means that the tank is not in its proper place. Remove the water tank and put it back in place fully, with the cover open.

2) If you own an ironing system Laurastar Go or Laurastar Go +:

These two alerts signal that there is almost no water left in the boiler tank. To fill it up, follow these instructions:

  1. Press the « steam » button on the iron and hold it down until any residual steam has been fully released.
  2. Switch off the Laurastar Go/Go+ and disconnect the plug from the outlet.
  3. Slowly unscrew the refill  cap (with a cloth to avoid any direct contact with the steam) until you hear or see the steam escaping – around 2 turns – and wait until the steam has been fully released.
  4. Unscrew the cap fully.
  5. Refill the bottle provided with water and place the mouth of the bottle in the hole of the boiler.  Briefly squeeze the bottle. Once full, carefully screw the refill cap back on.
  6. Plug the appliance back in and switch your Laurastar back on to continue ironing.

3) If you own an ironing system (such as Laurastar S4a, Laurastar S5a, Laurastar S6a, Laurastar S7a or Laurastar Pulse):

These two alerts signal that there is almost no water left in the water tank. Remove the water tank without switching off the ironing system, fill it with cold tap water up to the MAX level then put the water tank back in the boiler.

The light indicator is flashing during ironing is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. The light indicator flashes while you iron to indicate that the water is heating up.

Steam is escaping through the refill and drain caps of the boiler - is this normal?

If steam is escaping from the boiler, check that it is properly closed. If steam continues to escape, the seal or the cap itself should be replaced. Contact our Customer Service for more details.

Why is the board's blower/vacuum system not working?

The active board can only work if the fan is plugged in. Make sure that this is the case.
